Michael J. Fox Mourns the Loss of His Beloved Dog, Gus
Michael J. Fox is grieving the passing of his loyal companion, Gus — a 12-year-old Great Dane-Lab mix who stood by his side through some of life’s toughest battles, including his ongoing fight with Parkinson’s disease.
In a heartfelt post, Fox shared, “Gus — great dog and loyal friend, we’ll miss you.” He also referenced his memoir “No Time Like the Future,” where he lovingly called Gus his “wonder dog” and credited him for bringing comfort and connection during his most difficult moments.
Gus wasn’t just a pet — he was family, a healing presence, and a source of strength. “I didn’t rescue Gus,” Fox once wrote. “You can argue that he rescued me.”
After spinal surgery in 2018, Gus even helped Fox learn to walk again. Their bond was profound, and the loss leaves a deep void.
Our thoughts are with Michael J. Fox — and with anyone who’s ever known the quiet, life-changing love of a dog like Gus.
